I know, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything new on this page–it’s all been in the MO Updates. So what have I been up to since Miss Saigon closed? Subbing a lot, reading extensively, and spending more time at the theatre! I’ve teched a couple of events at Paliku (and gotten paid!) and auditioned for The Wind in the Willows. You can come see me as the egomaniacal judge in February (we open on my birthday!). The cast is all WCC students, so I’ll be taking a class in the spring, as soon as I actually get around to registering for a class. I’m thinking about taking a religion class as a refresher course of what different belief systems I might encounter when I finally get out of here. Part of my extensive reading involves depleting various libraries of anything Peace Corps related and scouring the internet for more information on where I might go and what to expect. If you’d like to join in my semi-obsessive speculation and pondering, you can check out the Peace Corps Wiki Timeline and Peace Corps Journals. Hours of fun! As a result of all this speculation and pondering, I’ve decided to start learning French. The vast majority of possible African countries I might be sent to are former French colonies, so it would probably come in pretty handy. And even if not, it would be good to expand my French speaking abilities beyond informing people, in no uncertain terms, that armadillos do not live in the sewers (thanks, Jackie!). For the Veggie Tales fans out there, this is a good time to get “Endangered Love” a.k.a. “Barbara Manatee” (manatee, manatee!) stuck in your head. ”But I must go into the world and do noble things for the good of all, and you can’t come because you don’t speak French.”

Hi Ms. OSHIRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -mega glomp/tacklehug- whassup?! me misses having you as a teacher. By the way, have you ever heard of IMPROV EVERYWHERE? they…rock!
its funny, they do crazy, silly, confusing events in public, just to confuse people, be entertaining, and have fun. one thing they have is the “Human Mirror” where they get a bunch of identical twins and put them on a train/subway, sitting directly opposite of each other, and they mimic the others movements exactly..like a mirror, and people slowly start to notice. also have a time when they freeze in a mall, stopping in any position at a certain time and staying perfectly still for 5 minutes, then start moving again as if nothing happened. so awesome….I’d love to do that, but I can’t keep a straight face as you well know.
Anyways, look em up. do it, do it now!
I hope to talk to you or see you soon.
wishing you the best, kelsey
