Sorry about that. There really isn’t a good excuse for not keeping up with this blog. It’s not like I’ve been incredibly busy or anything. Quite the opposite since PAPA wrapped up. It was a lot of work and long hours, but Mulan Jr. was a huge success! We put on a great show and performed to sold out houses. We even had to add another show because there was such great demand.
It was odd not to be at the theatre every day once the show was over, but I was really glad to have a little down time. I went to Lanai for a weekend with some friends from high school and enjoyed the slower pace of life there. It was nice to spend time reconnecting with old friends and not doing much besides enjoy each others’ company.
The other major event of the summer was my brother’s wedding this past Saturday. I spent several days prior to the wedding helping Eric to build their bed, an incredibly time-consuming effort when you don’t have all the right tools. Nice end result though. Eric and Corrie were over an hour late to their rehearsal (they had to pick someone up at the airport and the flight was late), so we rehearsed as well as we could without them. I stood in for the bride and got married to 4 different people before the night was over–a married man, 2 girls, and my brother. Yikes! Despite the less-than-smooth rehearsal, the wedding itself was beautiful.
As for the long-awaited Peace Corps news, I’m still waiting. In the mean time I’m doing some part time work at Assets, subbing and whatnot. As of this morning I’ve been cleared medically by the Peace Corps, so now I’m just waiting on the word letting me know when and where. Hopefully I’ll have news in the next few weeks!
